Exciting News: Major Research Grant Awarded Under RGC Theme-based Research Scheme

We are delighted to announce that our research program, Intelligent Artificial Photosynthesis, has been successfully funded under the Theme-based Research Scheme (TRS) 2026/27 of the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC). This prestigious award marks a significant milestone for our team and the broader research community in Hong Kong.

Led by Prof. Lianzhou Wang, the program aims to revolutionize solar-driven CO₂ conversion by developing AI-guided catalyst design strategies for the production of green liquid fuels. This interdisciplinary endeavor directly addresses two of the most pressing global challenges of our time—climate change and sustainable energy supply.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the RGC, the University Grants Committee (UGC) of Hong Kong, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) for their unwavering support and confidence in our vision. Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our collaborative partners—including team members from PolyU, HKU, CityU, and CUHK—as well as our esteemed international advisors, colleagues, students, and industry collaborators. This achievement would not have been possible without your collective expertise, dedication, and contributions.

As the project unfolds, we look forward to sharing our research progress, collaborative activities, upcoming events, and open opportunities through this platform. Stay connected as we embark on this exciting journey toward a greener and more sustainable future!
